CLASSROOM CHAIRS DONATIONS TO AGA KHAN FOUNDS MADRASA.

The Bank donated 40 class room chairs worth Tzs 4 million to Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) Madrasa in Stone Town
Zanzibar. This institution caters for students from underprivileged families in Unguja Island.
The students at this institution are able to acquire both religious education and Tanzanian syllabus under National
Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA). Due to increased annual enrollment, the institution is overwhelmed with
infrastructure difficulties, thus needs additional classroom chairs and books for continued learning.
DTB Tanzania Head of Cash of Zanzibar Branch Mr. Shahr Mohammed handed over the desks to Director of the AKF
Madrasa Mr. Khamis Said Abdallah at the institution.
This institution is entirely funded by AKF under the Education umbrella.

JITIHADA PRIMARY SCHOOL

On Friday 15th April 2016, The Bank held a CSR event at Jitihada Primary School in Kitunda Ward, Ilala Municipal.
The 2 classroom block to cater for lower primary school classes was handed over at the institution today as
witnessed by Teachers, Members of the Parents Teachers Association, The Kitunda Ward Councillor, Ms. Hon. Nice
Gisunte, Ukonga Constituency member of Parliament, Hon. Mwita Waitara, staff of DTB Tanzania and invited
members of press.
Diamond Trust Bank Tanzania under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) umbrella undertook the initiative to
accomplish the construction of 2 classroom academic block at Jitihada Primary School following request from the
school teacher. The works included roofing of block and interior works.
The DTB Tanzania Head of Finance & Administration, Mr. Joseph Mabusi further pledged for further financing of the
pavement block, desks for the 2 classes and the school administration block.

THE ANNUAL MEDICAL CAMP AT KEREGE VILLAGE

The annual Medical Camp at Kerege Village – Bagamoyo District took place yesterday – Sunday- 27th November
2016: More than 1000 people were screened and treated for various conditions including malaria, anemia, diabetes,
cataracts, periodontitis and hypertension for free courtesy to sponsorship by the Bank.
The one day medical camp assembled by Rotary Club Oysterbay brought together more than 80 volunteer health
professionals. The Bank was well represented by 23 volunteers who raised the DTB flag high by supported the
medical personnel during the exercise.

ROBERT CHACHA: SPONSORSHIP OF SCHOOL FEES, MWANZA

Robert Chacha (15) was born with a rare skin disease called Ichthyosis. He is currently in form one in Nyamagana
Secondary School in Mwanza; as a day scholar. Due to his condition, he is adversely affected by exposure to sunlight
and dust especially during trips from Orphanage home to school.
Robert is being taken care of by well-wishers – Nitetee foundation, a non-charitable organization dedicated to
supporting children with difficult living conditions/special needs in Lake Zone Tanzania has been supporting this
poor boy as a day scholar in Kassa Secondary School due financial constraints.
Despite his medical condition, Robert is a bright student with ambition to excel in education. His health has however
deteriorated given the exposure to sunlight and heat thus affecting his educational performance too. Robert needs
to relocate to a boarding school next year thus needs Tzs 1,770,000
The staff members at corporate office have contributed towards this noble cause to enable Robert to relocate to
school as a boarding student. In addition, the Management matched the same figure of Tzs 1,770,000 contribution
thus providing 2 years school fees paid for Robert.

DTB DONATES 50 MATTRESSES TO YATIMA CHAMAZI ORPHANAGE CENTRE

Diamond Trust Bank donated 50 mattresses worth TZS 10 million to Chamazi Orphanage Centre in
Mbagala – Chamazi Dar es salaam on the 2nd September 2016. This CSR initiative was organized by the
bank in collaboration with Author of Vipande Vya Maisha novel, Ms. Lorna Dadi.
Yatima Group Trust Fund – Chamazi Orphanage Centre was first opened in 1996 by Ms Winifrida
Lubanza in Mtoni – Temeke District, Dar es salaam. The centre later moved to Chamazi in 2002. The
centre is accommodating 150 orphans.

2016 ANNUAL STAFF PARTY

The Bank over the weekend held the “2017 End Year Party” for Dar es Salaam staff members.
Below were some of the notable activities of the evening-:
• The Number 1 Branch in 2016 – Nyerere Road Branch were given certificate of recognition for stellar
business performance in 2016
• Distinguished service awards – The employees who have served the Bank for 10 years were recognized
by the CEO – Mr. Viju Cherian (Joseph Mabusi, Zainab Rashid & Mica Richard)

FOUNDERS DAY GALA DINNER

On the 13th March 2017, The Bank held a Cocktail and Dinner gala at The Serena Hotel Dar es Salaam in the climax
of the commemoration of “20 years of full-fledged Commercial Banking status” as earlier communicated and
marked across the branches.
The event which was well attended by the Members of the Board, customers, invited partners and senior managers
in the Bank, witnessed the recognition of past members of the Board, Staff who have served the Bank for more than
20 years and select customers who have been with the Bank since 1997.
